Trying this blogging thing again....and Avery and my first recipe!

I tried blogging once before and that ended in an epic fail.  So I'm giving it a go again.  We'll see how it goes.  I always have "Avery" stories and I'm sure "Finley" stories aren't too far behind so what better place to share them.  I also figure this is a great place to show all the recipes that Avery and I are working on.

Avery and I started our cook book adventure tonight with making Honey Roasted Chickpeas....since none of us have ever had chickpeas I figured this would be a great place to start off.  Recipe is from weelicious (love them) and it was so easy. Find the full recipe here at Weelicious (could be my new favorite website!)

We started by getting all our ingredients together...truth be known they were supposed to be cinnamon honey roasted but since Avery can't have cinnamon we just left that out.
Sitting with all her ingredients, and supplies.
Patting to get all the extra water off.
Peeling the outer skin off...now if you have never done this let me say you are in for a treat!
Putting the peeled chickpeas in a bowl.
Mixing in the oil (and cinnamon if you used it)
DUMP!
Viola!  Yummy goodness even daddy ate some!
Now in full disclosure we were in a hurry and I missed the last step of the recipe where you are supposed to cover them with honey then put them back into the oven for 7 minutes OOPS but they were still good...sticky but good and something we will try again after I get back to the store for more chickpeas!

The recipe also says to cook them for 40 minutes but that is way too long (at least in my over it was) and I had to go rescue them after about 20-25 instead.  All in all....a good first cooking experience for our new cookbook!
